Train Students in Peer Advocacy Campaigns for Healthy Eating in Schools

While schools are required to serve healthy foods, students are not always selecting the healthy options. This program will enable students to educate themselves on healthy choices and personal responsibility as well as teach them how to develop and implement an effective advocacy campaign.

Checklist

  • Research school regulations.
  • Identify potential schools for pilot programs.
  • Coordinate a task force of faculty, staff and students.
  • Delegate roles and responsibilities among the task forces.
  • Design and implement a training program for student advocates that will teach them how to effectively communicate with their peers.
  • Implement several strategies.
