According to the 2015 Civic Health Index, young-adults (ages 18-30) are startlingly under-engaged compared to older adults. For example, these older adults’ rates of participation exceed those of our young adults by more than twenty-five percentage points for charitable giving of at least $25, and for trusting most or all of the people in their neighborhood. Older adults also engage at twice the rates of younger adults in doing favors for neighbors and holding group leadership positions.
