Teacher Fellowships - Self Directed Lrng

Low-cost High-impact Fellowships for Teachers are an effective way to support self-directed teacher professional development.

Teachers submit competitive applications in teams for local funds that cover the cost of professional development, substitute pay for some release time from the classroom and stipends to work on learning in the summer. Projects cost up to $5000 each and must have direct measurable outcomes for student learning that appropriately measure the impact of the newly implemented strategies studied and learned. Fellows complete a final action-research report that evaluates the success of the strategy for students and makes informed recommendations to district leaders about the replication or expansion or discontinuation of the strategy.
