Rebrand Teaching

Forum participants said we must rebrand teaching through statewide marketing campaigns that feature respected leaders who can help communities understand teachers’ value-added and enhance public perceptions of educators.

How do we do this? What role can local communities and districts play in moving this priority forward? Who is already doing it—in NC or elsewhere—that we can look to for ideas? Are you involved in doing this or would you like to be?

Teryn M,

I have worked with others on this issue, and will share our successes through Social digital communities for parents and teachers. By highlighting what teachers are already doing to go above and beyond (inquiry-based lesson plans, thought leadership, nurturing digital environments, etc.) we can amplify the message, informing more community members and recognizing teachers.
